Xiaomi Robot Vacuum H40

The Robot Vacuum H40 vacuums and mops, with a dock that empties the dust box on its own into a 4-litre bag rated by the manufacturer for up to 90 days before it needs changing. An LDS laser sensor scans the home in a 360° sweep and saves multi-floor maps, so the Xiaomi Home app organises cleaning room by room or by zone, including areas to avoid such as rugs. The main brush, gold-coloured and comb-toothed, is designed to cut down on tangling from both long and short hair. The robot climbs thresholds up to 2 cm and returns to the dock on its own when the battery runs low.

Mopping is done by a pad fed from a 210 ml tank, included in the box but fitted at first use; the official page does not describe a pad-washing cycle at the dock, only automatic dust emptying, so the pad has to be detached and washed by hand. The robot connects only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and voice commands go through Alexa or Google Assistant on a separate device. It suits someone who wants to stop thinking about the dust box, while still handling the pad and water tank by hand.
