Roborock Q7 M5

The Q7 M5 vacuums and mops in the same pass: a LiDAR sensor on the lid scans the home through 360° and builds the map on which the app draws no-go zones and invisible walls, remembering several floors. The dock only recharges it, without emptying the bin or washing the pad.

Mopping is handled by a flat pad fixed under the robot that neither spins nor vibrates: a pad of this kind dampens the floor and picks up fine dust rather than scrubbing it. The robot detects carpets on its own and raises suction, but the pad does not lift, so it has to be removed by hand before going over them. The main and side brushes are designed against hair and fur tangling.

There is no camera and no microphone on board: the external sensors are the LiDAR, the bumper and the cliff sensors. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only, and security updates are guaranteed until 4 June 2027. It suits someone who accepts emptying the bin and washing the pad by hand, in exchange for a precise map of the home and a robot with no camera.
