Roborock Q7 L5

The Q7 L5 is the entry model of Roborock's Q7 series: a robot that vacuums and mops in the same pass, with LiDAR navigation and a dock that only charges it. The turret on the lid scans the room through 360° and builds a map of the home, on which the app sets no-go zones and invisible walls; up to three maps can be saved, one per floor. On carpets, detected by the robot or marked in the app, suction rises automatically.

Mopping is done by a flat pad fixed under the robot that neither spins nor vibrates: a pad of this kind dampens the floor and picks up fine dust rather than scrubbing it. The electronic water tank offers three flow levels. The pad does not lift, so it has to be removed before the robot goes over carpets. The comb-style main brush and the side brush are designed to limit hair wrapping.

With no auto-empty dock, the 400 ml dustbin is emptied by hand, together with the 270 ml water tank it shares a single removable unit with. The filter is washable; the main brush and filter are replaced every 6-12 months, the side brush and mop pad every 3-6. There is no camera and no microphone on board: the external sensors are the LiDAR, the bumpers and the cliff sensors. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only, and security updates are guaranteed until 4 June 2027. It suits a first robot for someone who accepts emptying it by hand; the L5+ version adds a dock that empties the bin.
