eufy HydroJet S2

The HydroJet S2 vacuums and mops with a roller that spins under the robot, paired with a station that, according to the manufacturer, does almost everything by itself: it collects dust for up to 68 days, washes the roller with 60 °C water, dries it and doses the detergent by itself, disinfecting with electrolysed water. The robot's own clean-water tank is small, just 120 ml, and the station tops it up during the cleaning run. A side brush extends 15 mm towards the edges, to reach where the roller, which stays a fixed distance from the walls, does not touch.

The robot finds its way with an RGB camera and a 3D distance sensor that recognise over 200 types of obstacles and stains, day and night, and adjust cleaning room by room. There is no microphone on board. On carpets it lifts the roller to avoid wetting them, and it climbs thresholds up to 4.2 cm. It connects only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and is compatible with Matter as well as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

With a camera used for recognising obstacles and stains, the manufacturer does not state whether image processing happens on the robot or goes through the cloud, nor whether the model has privacy controls beyond the rules that apply to the brand as a whole: anyone who cares about this should check before buying. It is the most refined model in eufy's home range: it washes with hot water and doses the detergent by itself, where the Omni C and Omni E models in the same family stop at room-temperature water.
