Roborock Saros 20

The Saros 20 vacuums and mops with two spinning pads, and spends most of its time on its dock. It finds its way with a front-mounted 3D time-of-flight sensor and an RGB camera, which build the map and recognise obstacles. The body is 7.98 cm tall, so it fits under many sofas and beds. The chassis lifts itself on its wheels: a single threshold up to 4.5 cm, or two close steps up to 4.5 + 4.3 cm, do not stop it moving from room to room.

The dock handles most of the upkeep: it empties the dustbin into a bag, washes the pads with water up to 100 °C, dries them with 55 °C hot air, doses detergent and refills the robot's tank. Clean and dirty water sit in two tanks that are filled and emptied by hand: this version does not connect to the household plumbing. On carpets the robot lifts or drops off its pads and raises suction; the side brush and a pad extend out of the body to reach along edges and into corners.

There is a camera and there are microphones on board. They serve obstacle recognition, the «Hello Rocky» voice assistant, which answers even without Wi-Fi, and video calls from the app to look around the home remotely. Video calling is off by default, is switched on with a button on the robot and asks for an unlock pattern in the app; the voice assistant and obstacle recognition can be turned off. Security updates are scheduled until 1 March 2028. It suits homes with rugs and thresholds, for owners who want to step in as little as possible; for anyone who does not want a camera at home, this model is built around one.
