Roborock Q10 S5+

The Q10 S5+ is a robot that vacuums and mops, with LiDAR navigation and a dock that, at the end of each run, pulls the dust out of the robot's bin into a disposable bag. Compared with the Q10 S5, the main difference is the dock: the model without the "+" only charges. The map is built from a 360° laser scan and up to four are kept, one per floor; obstacles on the floor are detected by a structured-light sensor.

Mopping is done by a flat pad under the robot, vibrated by the VibraRise 2.0 module and fed from an on-board tank that is filled by hand with cold water. On carpets, which a sensor underneath recognises, the module lifts by 8 mm and suction increases. The dock does not wash the pad: after each run it has to be removed, washed and left to dry.

Day to day, what remains is changing the bag when it is full, cleaning the washable filter and the main brush every two weeks, and periodically replacing brushes, filter and pad. The robot is controlled through the Roborock app, connects only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and works with Alexa and Google Home; software security updates are guaranteed until May 2027. It suits a home that needs vacuuming every day without emptying the bin, with maintenance mopping on top; a dock that washes and dries the pads belongs to a different tier.
